2023 Courses

Intentional Closures & New Beginnings

Sundays, 9-11 AM CST, 1/8/23-2/5/23

Wednesdays, 6-7:30 PM CST, 1/11/23-2/1/23

Typically, our New Year’s resolutions are abandoned before the calendar shifts from January to February. During the first class in the 2023 Still River Travels Course Series, we will honor our 2022 life lessons and explore what we hope to learn in 2023. We will discuss how self compassion, growth mindset, and mindfulness practices facilitate resilient closures and hopeful beginnings.

Turning Core Values into Action items

Wednesdays, 6-7:30 PM CST, 2/15/23-3/8/23

When you examine today’s agenda, do you feel a sense of dread or an inner smile as your excitement rises? When our agendas and to-do lists align with our core values, our sense of purpose increases, our stress levels decline, and our overall life satisfaction heightens. Jennifer will help participants identify their core values and encourage a deeper exploration of why particular values are meaningful and necessary for our emotional well-being. Participants will examine the relationship between stress and core values and identify strategies to create daily life agendas that are values-based and purposeful.

Finding Stillness & Well-Being

Saturdays, 9-11 AM CST, 4/15/23-5/6/23

Wednesdays, 6-7:30 PM CST, 4/5/23-4/26/23

Life changes are unavoidable and often fuel frustration, anxiety, and other challenging emotions. Behaviors and thought patterns that promote self-awareness and present-centeredness allow us to respond intentionally to shifting circumstances. We will explore self-reflection activities, growth mindset practices, and other strategies that help ease our mental burden during times of impermanence and change.

Seeking Self Compassion

Saturdays, 9-11 AM CST, 9/23/23-10/14/23

Wednesdays, 6-7:30 PM CST, 10/4/23-10/25/23

Transitions often fuel our inner critics’ darkest (and meanest) ramblings as we grapple with uncertainty and adjustment to new circumstances. When we choose self-compassionate internal dialogue during challenging times, we reframe changes as opportunities to evolve into enhanced versions of ourselves who navigate life with less stress and higher levels of confidence. We will explore how to honor the mental and emotional responses that are evoked in us during times of change and how incorporating kinder, more accepting self-talk helps us move forward resiliently.

Holding onto Authenticity

Saturdays, 9-11 AM CST, 10/28/23-11/18/23

Wednesdays, 6-7:30 PM CST, 11/1/23-11/29/23 (no class 11/22/23)

Impermanence and change cause multifaceted shifts in us, our approach to handling life demands, and what we know to be “normal.” As we navigate the demands of life changes and challenges, how do we protect our core values and what matters most to us? During the final class of the 2023 Still River Travels Course Series, we will explore how self-reflection, mindfulness, and self-compassion allow us to maintain our authenticity and summon our bravery during times of uncertainty and transition.
